Poem of the Touge

As the engine revs
The tyres scream of pain in consent diving left, right, left

The revs of the four cylinder engine over the noise over the rotary
In the bends and straightaways, it was the start of something revoltingly

The drivers pushing there cars to the limit
There minds were far from out of it

There rep was all on the line
And there where drifting in time

To the beat of the songs on the radio
The RX-7 would not let go

The Corolla put up a fight
It was like a plane taking flight

It was into the last Five Hairpins
It was now a battle of the Brakes

The Corolla stuck like glue
But it had a mystery engine

But the RX-7 lost the lead
But the Corolla had to think a head

It use the gutter run
It had to win

To the limit
There was not much in it

As he pushed harder
It made the RX-7 think harder

In the last bend
There where out there minds

As the Corolla when on the outside
The RX-7 went on the inside

As the Corolla went inside
The RX-7 slipped outside

On the straightaway the RX-7 driver knew he had lost
And the Corolla driver knew he had won
